Our Employee of the Month for August is Gabe Barrantes.
Gabe is a lifeguard here at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and has been working with us since April 2022. Gabe’s co-workers and supervisors say he is one of the hardest working lifeguards here, which has earned him a lot of respect amongst his peers. Pool Manager Taylor Mays, says, “It is our pleasure to recognize Gabe as our Employee of the Month. Gabe was a Team Lead Lifeguard with our Pool Department before injuring his shoulder, and had been a big part of our success through the end of the summer season. With schools starting up and seasonal staff leaving, Gabe was putting in many hours to keep our resort running smoothly and safely. Along with the long hours, Gabe had been a great leader for the Lifeguard team. Staying calm and collected while responding to emergencies, and providing great guest service to all our guests. Thank you, and congratulations Gabe!” Gabe will be headed to California this fall to study engineering at Santa Clara University. When asked how it felt to be Employee of the Month, Gabe replied, "I'm very appreciative of receiving this honor. I'm glad everyone notices my work and contribution to the Hot Springs. Thank you."
