Fully refreshed locker rooms also are part of pool upgrades
Glenwood Springs, Colorado (May 31, 2022) – Just in time for the summer season, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort opened its new Therapy Pool on May 27. Soothing guests since 1960, the previous Therapy Pool needed some love, with upgrades including a full redesign and infrastructure work.
Improved lighting and a new ADA ramp make getting in and out of the Therapy Pool easier any time of day, and the installation of therapy jet chairs and power shower clusters for upper-body massages is soon to come but slightly delayed due to supply chain issues.
“Instead of waiting to reopen the Therapy Pool, we decided to move ahead so guests can enjoy soaking in 104-degree natural hot springs goodness on the east end again and to return Hanging Lake Pool back to its usual temperature as part of the family friendly Sopris Splash Zone,” says Kevin Flohr, director of operations for Glenwood Hot Springs Resort.
In tandem with the Therapy Pool project, all pool locker rooms on the main and upper floors of the bathhouse have been fully remodeled with a new sound system, flooring, fixtures, wall treatments and LED lighting. Not only can guests change and shower in the locker rooms, they also can store personal belongings in new lockers available at no cost.
Since opening in 1888, visitors to Glenwood Hot Springs Resort have followed the Ute’s footsteps and wisdom to the natural hot springs sourced from the on-site Yampah Spring, which contains 15 naturally occurring minerals known for their restorative properties. The pool is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the summer season from May 27 through Labor Day weekend. For more information, visit www.hotspringspool.com.
