Sierra Weast, daughter of John and Judith Weast, has worked many posts at Glenwood Hot Springs, including as a Grill employee, pool cashier and lifeguard. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in social work, an accelerated five-year program offered at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Sierra received a total award of $4,000.
Already a talented musician, Kyle Snyder, whose parents are Dana and Rilla Snyder, plans to major in music education at either the University of Northern Colorado or Colorado Mesa University. Kyle is employed as the pianist at the
Lifeguard Corey Gera plans to attend Adams State University in Alamosa or Colorado Mountain College (CMC) here in Glenwood Springs, where she is looking forward to following a pre-med/nursing course of study. She sees the advantages of both schools: the possibility of playing soccer at Adams State or being close to home by attending CMC. Corey is the daughter of Richard Gera of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Virginia Gera of Glenwood Springs. Corey received a $2,000 award.
Congratulations to the 2012 Glenwood Hot Springs Higher Education Scholarship winners. The Glenwood Hot Springs Higher Education Scholarship was established in 1995 for the higher education of students who meet particular criteria determined by the selection committee.
