Kelley’s Corner: A Goal without a Plan is Just a Wish
With the beginning of a new year and decade, January is a perfect month to start fresh, eat right, train smart and live a healthy lifestyle.
To support you in achieving your goals, the Athletic Club is hosting a few special events this month to encourage a successful launch to the new year. A yoga workshop on January 3, “Wringing Out the Old and Bringing in the New,” will focus on cleansing twisting movements that enhance circulation. On January 16, the Club will feature an Ayurvedic workshop focusing on the Abhyanga medicine practice of self-oiling massage therapy. The Club will also be running a month-long member challenge called “Knock-Out;” interested participants may inquire further and pick up a participation card from any group instructor or personal trainer. Flyers with additional details for these special events are on display at the Athletic Club.
Goals are not just a first-of-January kind of thing. To keep your momentum going, set goals monthly, weekly and daily, and set them with a mindset that progress is cumulative, —never forgetting your purpose for starting. Embrace this new year mindfully and fitfully, and remember: a goal without a plan is just a wish.
