Olympic Swimmer Models at Glenwood Hot Springs

Four-time Olympic silver medalist Kara Lynn Joyce spent some time at Glenwood Hot Springs last week. She teamed up with the popular Jolyn Clothing Company to do a photo shoot that features some of their swimwear.

Kara competed as a member of the United States Olympic Swimming Team at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 games. She is one of only seven women in U.S. history to qualify for three Olympic teams. Swimming came naturally to Kara, starting at 5 years old. She was encouraged by her swim coach mom and two older brothers. Most recently, Kara was as a teammate and mentor for Missy Franklin. Now based in Denver at age 30, Kara travels the country with the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour conducting clinics and training sessions.

Members of the local Team Sopris swim team had an opportunity to meet Kara at the Glenwood Hot Springs Athletic Club the day before the photo session. Everyone had the opportunity to hold two of Kara’s silver medals. Lots of selfies were snapped and the girls took home an autographed souvenir.

Jolyn Clothing Company selected Glenwood Hot Springs as one of their photo shoot locations and asked Kara to be the primary model. This “posse of aquatic outlaws”, as they call themselves, is based in Huntington Beach, California. With almost a cult following, the retailer designs fashionable performance swim apparel with a focus on function and fun. All their products are made in America.
