Health Hints: 3 Easy, Inexpensive Remedies for Dry Skin
Dry skin is prevalent in our Colorado climate. It’s one of the top complaints Spa of the Rockies estheticians' hear from clients, but remedies don’t have to be complicated or expensive.
- Skip the bubbles. Bubble baths and even many soaps contain harsh chemicals that dehydrate skin. Instead of bubble bath, use fragrant natural oils or soaps with a high shea butter content to add a skin moisturizing component to your bath or shower.
- Pat, don’t rub skin. After bathing gently pat skin dry with a towel. Patting leaves a small amount of moisture on the skin which you can seal in with moisturizer, the next step.
- Always moisturize. Don’t skip or skimp on this step. Choose a lotion or oil you love and apply it to still damp skin to lock in moisture for the day. These simple steps will help your skin look and feel fantastic no matter the season.
