Health & Beauty Tip: Be Heart Healthy
February is American Heart Health month – a perfect time to give your heart a little extra love. Here’s how:
- Get moving. Exercise is one of the best ways to boost your heart health. A swim in the pool, a walk in nature, 20 minutes on a treadmill, spin bike or elliptical will make a real difference in your health if done regularly.
- Feed your body. Right up there with exercising is eating right. Try adding strawberries or blueberries to your cereal or oatmeal in the morning. Drink green tea midday instead of a soda. Replace junkie snacks with an apple or orange. For dinner be sure the main course is accompanied with a hearty-sized salad.
- Feed your soul. Social connections are vital to heart health as well. Make arrangements to meet up with friends and spend some time relaxing, laughing and enjoying the company of others. Of course, we would suggest a girl’s day out at the Spa of the Rockies.
