Aqua Nia Debuts at the Hot Springs Pool
Offered only at the Hot Springs, Aqua Nia is a fusion of modern and ethnic dance, martial arts and yoga.  Julie Hart, certified Nia instructor, has taught water aerobics since 1997 and in 2005, created Aqua Nia, blending her love of dance with her love of the water.

Julie explains, “Water is the ultimate healing place to work out, as the body is both gently supported and yet also given strengthening resistance - water is 10 times more resistant than air!  This makes Aqua Nia one of the best core-strengthening workouts. If you don't hold your core strong and move from center, the water will move you about, all akimbo!  And the balancing workout inherent in moving through water at varying speeds cannot be matched on land.”

Check out this new class, beginning July 2 Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 PM.

The Aqua Nia class is free for Athletic Club members, $10 for Pool Pass Holders and Hot Springs Lodge guests, and $20 for walk-in guests.  For non-club members, be sure to check-in at the Athletic Club front desk and ask for a receipt when you've paid for the class.

Julie Hart is a certified Nia instructor and creative director for Sol Nia.  She has taught water aerobics since 1997 and has been dancing Nia since 2001.  In 2004, she traveled to Capetown, South Africa to train for her Nia white belt and in 2007, earned her Nia blue belt.  Julie is committed to presence, self-healing and love through movement.
