Glenwood Hot Springs Wins Awards in Four Categories

As part of the Strawberry Days weekend festivities in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, the Glenwood Springs Post Independent announced the winners of its annual Locals’ Choice contest. Based on voting, mainly by local residents who live within the publications’ distribution zone, Glenwood Hot Springs was named a winner in several categories including Travel and Tourism, Local Life and Local Recreation.

Best Place to People Watch– (Gold winner) – People are fascinating. On any given day, a visitor might hear Japanese in the Therapy Pool; see four generations of family eating ice cream cones together or observe strangers chatting like friends while waiting a turn for the waterslide into the hot springs pool.

Best Spa – (Silver winner) – The Spa of the Rockies is a favorite with locals and visitors alike. Spa treatments like the Ultimate Zen, Colorado River Stone Massage and Aroma Transformation Facial promote wellbeing and peace.

Best Place for Family Fun – (Silver winner) – Why Glenwood Hot Springs is a winner with families: pool the size of football field, nice warm water, diving board for cannonballs, two waterslides that are 3-stories tall, soft-serve ice cream, shaved ice with flavor bursts, all day admission until closing time at 10 p.m.

Best Local Attraction – (Silver winner) – The pool and resort first opened in July of 1888; then it was only for the well-to-do, but over the years, the pool has become a destination for all those seeking healing, relaxation and fellowship. Glenwood Hot Springs Pool celebrates its 127th anniversary on July 4, 2015.
